Position: Counsel – Corporate M&A
Client: International Law Firm
Location: Tokyo, Japan
Qualifications:
- Admission to practice as an attorney in Germany.
- A minimum of 7 years of post-qualified experience (PQE) in corporate M&A.
- Proven experience managing cross-border transactions, ideally between Japan and the EU.
- Strong client relationship management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise teams of associates and paralegals in executing M&A transactions.
- Strong academic credentials.
- Native or fluent German language proficiency.
- Japanese language skills are a plus but not required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading and advising on complex corporate and M&A transactions with a cross-border focus.
- Managing and growing client relationships by delivering commercially-focused, high-quality legal advice.
- Supervising and mentoring teams of associates and paralegals to ensure efficient and effective transaction execution.
- Collaborating with international offices and teams on multi-jurisdictional matters.
