About the Role
This is a high-impact People Business Partner opportunity supporting a large advisory business in Japan. The role serves as a strategic advisor to senior business leaders, driving organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, talent strategy, and business growth.
The successful candidate will partner closely with leadership to align people strategies with commercial priorities while providing guidance on organizational design, succession planning, employee relations, talent management, and leadership effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with senior business leaders to develop and execute people strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Lead workforce planning, organizational design, and succession planning initiatives.
- Drive talent management, leadership development, and employee engagement programs.
- Support performance management processes and leadership capability development.
- Advise stakeholders on employee relations matters and employment-related risk management.
- Manage organizational change and transformation initiatives.
- Support annual talent review, compensation, promotion, and performance cycles.
- Analyze workforce trends and recommend solutions to strengthen organizational effectiveness.
- Build trusted relationships with leaders across a complex and matrixed business environment.
- Contribute to culture, retention, and employee experience initiatives.
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum 8 years of progressive HR experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in an HR Business Partner or equivalent strategic HR role.
- Experience across multiple HR disciplines, including talent management, organizational development, recruitment, workforce planning, and employee relations.
- Strong understanding of Japanese labor law and employee relations practices.
- Demonstrated business acumen and stakeholder management capability.
- Strong problem-solving and consulting skills.
- Native-level Japanese and business-level English proficiency.
Preferred
- Experience within financial services, real estate, consulting, or professional services environments.
- Experience working in multinational and matrix organizations.
- Exposure to organizational transformation and change management initiatives.
- Expertise in compensation, retention strategies, talent planning, and workforce analytics.
- Proven ability to influence senior leaders and drive organizational outcomes.
