About the Role
This is a confidential replacement hire for an experienced Compensation & Benefits professional who will play a key role in driving compensation, benefits, and policy-related initiatives. As part of a lean and highly visible team, you will partner with HR and business leaders to deliver projects, implement policy enhancements, and support organizational transformation efforts.
The role offers significant exposure to senior stakeholders and provides a strong platform for future progression into broader HR leadership responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and execute compensation and benefits projects from planning through implementation.
- Support the delivery of organization-wide HR policy and process enhancement initiatives.
- Partner with HR Business Partners and business stakeholders to ensure practical and effective implementation of people programs.
- Provide subject matter expertise on compensation and benefits topics and communicate complex concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
- Balance governance requirements with business needs to deliver pragmatic solutions.
- Contribute to project governance, structure, and execution excellence across the function.
- Build trusted relationships with leaders, HR colleagues, and employees.
- Support ongoing transformation and continuous improvement initiatives within the HR organization.
- Act as a role model and contribute to the development of future HR leadership capabilities.
Qualifications
Required
- Demonstrated experience in Compensation & Benefits.
- Proven project management experience, including leading projects or significant workstreams.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Fluent business-level English and professional-level Japanese.
- Experience working in large, complex organizations.
- Ability to explain complex compensation and benefits concepts in a clear and practical manner.
- Strong interpersonal skills, organizational awareness, and collaboration capabilities.
- Leadership potential beyond an individual contributor role.
Preferred
- Experience working within multinational and/or matrix organizations.
- Exposure to HR policy design, implementation, and transformation initiatives.
- Experience presenting to and influencing senior stakeholders.
- Interest in developing into broader HR leadership positions.
- Ability to balance ideal policy frameworks with practical business realities.
