The Japan business is experiencing significant growth and is seeking an experienced HR leader to help scale the organization, strengthen its culture, and build people practices that support long-term success.
About the Role
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced HR professional to take ownership of the full HR function for a growing Japan organization of approximately 50 employees. The role combines strategic HR leadership with hands-on operational execution and will play a critical role in supporting business expansion, enhancing employee engagement, and building a high-performance culture.
The successful candidate will partner closely with regional leadership and local stakeholders to develop scalable HR processes, support talent growth, and ensure an exceptional employee experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all HR activities for the Japan business.
- Support organizational growth initiatives, workforce planning, and talent strategies.
- Design and enhance performance management frameworks to drive employee development and accountability.
- Develop and execute learning and development programs that strengthen employee capabilities and leadership potential.
- Partner with business leaders to improve employee engagement, retention, and organizational effectiveness.
- Build, improve, and scale HR policies, systems, and processes to support business growth.
- Manage employee relations, labor-related matters, and HR compliance requirements.
- Oversee HR operations and administrative activities as needed.
- Contribute to culture-building initiatives that foster collaboration, agility, and high performance.
- Provide strategic HR guidance while maintaining a hands-on approach to implementation and execution.
Qualifications
Required
- Broad experience across multiple HR disciplines, including talent acquisition, performance management, employee relations, compensation, learning and development, and HR operations.
- Business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English.
Preferred
- Experience within professional services, technology, consulting, advertising, research, information services, or similar industries.
- Startup, scale-up, or high-growth company experience.
